She is a snake. And she's a scorpion. She's a "Snorpion".

Buffy to Andi about Amber

The Snorpion is the fifth episode in Season 2 of Andi Mack and the seventeenth episode overall. It first aired on November 24, 2017 to 1.18 million viewers.[1]

Plot[]

Summary[]

Andi invites Amber over for a sleepover. Buffy is frustrated when the basketball team captain TJ excludes her from gameplay.[2]

Full Plot[]

After her conversation with Brittany about being a professional makeup artist for a living, Bex has applied for cosmetology certification. She gets Bowie to be her makeup model so that she can take pictures to submit for the certification. She's so good at her work that when Andi walks in on them, she thinks Bowie has actual bruises on his face.

On the basketball court, Buffy is struggling because TJ the captain hates her and he won't let her get the ball. Andi and Cyrus are cheering her but sad that she's being mistreated by the captain. After the match, while at The Spoon, Cyrus says it was the best game he's ever cheered. He even admits to Jonah that he gets bored watching Space Otters games especially when the frisbee gets stuck in a tree. Buffy complains to them about how the boys are mistreating her on the team.

Andi goes to check on their waitress, Amber, to see why their baby taters order is taking so long. Amber is on the phone talking to her dad, telling him that she doesn't want to come home if he and her mom are fighting again. Andi overhears the conversation and Amber apologizes for it. Andi sympathizes with Amber about her parents fighting. She also offers that she's there to listen if Amber needs someone to talk to. They sit down and start talking. Buffy and Cyrus get impatient waiting for Andi and trying to figure out what they're talking about.

Returning to Buffy and Cyrus, Andi tells them that she's invited Amber to a sleepover because she needed a place to stay. Jonah thanks Andi for being there for Amber. But Buffy doesn't trust Amber. She tells them the story of a scorpion and a frog where the frog helped a scorpion cross the river but the scorpion still stung the frog. She tells them that Amber is a scorpion. When Andi reminds her that she had said Amber is a snake in Friends Like These, Buffy says Amber is a snake, and she is a scorpion. She's a snorpion.

Andi brings Amber to her apartment but Bex is clearly not happy about it. Amber understands and apologizes to Bex. She tells Bex that she was in a bad place. Being with Jonah had made her mean but she's not that person anymore. She's changed. Bex starts telling Andi the story of the frog and the scorpion but Andi doesn't want to hear it. She takes Amber to her bedroom.

The sleepover starts on a low note because at first Amber and Andi can't think of something they have in common. Eventually, they both realize they both like makeup and makeovers. They take Bex's makeover kits and give each other makeovers. Amber puts on a black wig to look like Andi, while Andi puts on a blonde wig to look like Amber. They dance and jump and dance. They have so much fun that Bex is surprised when she knocks on the door. Andi receives a video call from Buffy and Cyrus. They complain about Amber turning Andi into her clone and using wigs from Andi's party (in Dancing in the Dark). Andi tells them she's having fun and everything is fine. She cuts them off.

Amber, admitting that she overheard the video call, tells Andi that she understands why her friends don't trust her but she promises to change. She opens up to Andi, telling her that she's working at The Spoon because her dad lost his job. Andi feels bad for her and Amber thanks her for inviting her over.

Now, for the next sleepover activity, Amber helps Andi sneak out of the apartment. They go to a closed ferris wheel ride. Andi worries that they could get in trouble but Amber tells her that she does it all the time. Andi takes on the first ride, leaving her phone down.

While Andi is up in the air, her phone rings. Amber checks on the caller and sees that it's Jonah Beck. This stirs up her memories with Jonah and the emotions get the best of her. She gets so mad that she refuses to let Andi come back down until she apologizes for stealing Jonah. While they're still arguing, they hear police sirens approaching. Amber runs away leaving Andi alone. Andi is busted for trespassing.

Bex and Bowie go to the police station to get Andi out. Andi tries to defend herself since it wasn't her idea, claiming that Bex and Bowie used to sneak out all the time. But ultimately, she decides her punishment since Bex and Bowie can't think of a punishment. She goes to her room to think about it. Bex tells Bowie she feels like a bad parent because she's most upset that Andi didn't invite her along. Bowie admits that they're not typical parents. But they will be there for each other because they're Team Andi.

While walking to The Spoon Diner, Buffy and Cyrus see TJ looking through books. Buffy wants to go yell at him for disrespecting her during the game but Cyrus asks her to be nice and not yell. Buffy politely asks TJ to give her a chance to show them what she can do on the team. But TJ rudely tells Buffy to quit the team and join a girls' basketball team, which doesn't even exist. Buffy yells at him for a couple minutes. Then she proceeds to The Spoon with Cyrus.

At The Spoon, Amber comes over to serve them food. She finds Andi with bruises on her face. They tell her that when Amber left last night, Andi tried to climb down the ferris wheel and got hurt. Amber feels so bad and apologizes for leaving her. She tells her that remembering Jonah made her lose herself. Then when the police came, she panicked. She tells them that she almost came back for Andi but Buffy mocks her for claiming she almost had conscience. Now that they've got Amber, The Good Hair Crew then reveals that Andi was just faking. The bruises were nothing but makeup. But now, she has learned her lesson. She can never trust Amber again.

Later, Andi tells Bex and Bowie about it on an ice cream walk. Bex is proud that her makeup skills were so good that they could fool Amber. Bowie and Bex start playing around with their ice cream cones, and Andi is beyond happy to watch her parents having fun.
