Plot[]

When Jonah asks Andi for help picking out a birthday gift for his girlfriend, Amber, Andi enlists the help of Bex.[2]

Full Plot[]

Since Bowie left in "Terms of Embarrassment," Andi is having a hard time getting over it. She's texted him several times but he hasn't replied to any of her text messages. Bex decides to cheer Andi up by taking her shopping at The Fringe where they try on different outfits. This turns out to be very fun for both Andi and Bex. At the end, Andi settles for a t-shirt that Bex usually wears.

The next day at school, Buffy meets up with Marty from the party in the hallway. The two exchange their usual competitive flirty wits. Andi and Cyrus conclude that Buffy has a crush on Marty. Determined to prove them wrong, Buffy goes back to Marty and challenges him to a real race to determine who is the fastest. Once and for all. Marty accepts the challenge for the following day after school.

As the Good Hair Crew is walking down the hallway, Jonah Beck passes by and acts as if he didn't notice them despite Andi waving at him. Andi is concerned that Jonah is trying to avoid her. She assumes that Jonah is ghosting her because of their last embarrassing encounter when Jonah walked in on Andi while she's eating baby taters in her old pajamas, while stalking Jonah on social media. Buffy and Cyrus agree that that's really embarrassing. So, Andi goes to Jonah to help make things right. She apologizes for kicking him out and says he's invited to come over to her house whenever he wants. Jonah asks to hangout in the afternoon since he needs help with something.

Jonah is stressed about Amber's upcoming birthday. He asks Andi for help. So, Andi takes him to The Fringe to get ideas from Bex. Jonah explains to Bex the struggle he goes through trying to get Amber a gift. She never tells him what she wants but never likes whatever he gets her. It's like they're doing this guessing game where he never wins. Bex takes the opportunity to indirectly make fun of Amber. She also uses it as a chance to show Jonah how beautiful Andi is and make him see her in a different light. She puts makeup on Andi in front of Jonah and asks him what he thinks of her. He says she looks pretty. Bex then advises Jonah to give Amber makeup as a birthday gift.

After their fun at the Fringe, Bex takes Andi to The Spoon Diner for baby taters and milkshake. They have so much fun that Andi starts to wonder why Bex left in the first place. She tells Bex that they could have always been doing this together every day. Bex is ready to tell her why she had to leave home but Andi doesn't want to ruin the moment. She just wants to talk about Jonah. Bex and Andi lose track of time, causing them to arrive late for dinner. First, Celia is upset because they are late for dinner. To make things worse, they have already eaten at The Spoon Diner and they aren't even going to eat her food.

Celia reminds Bex that when she came back, she said she was only going to stay with them for a short time. Andi gets upset and asks if Celia wants to send Bex away again. Celia denies that she ever sent Bex away, leading to a heated argument about whose fault it was that Bex left. Celia accidentally mentions that she did it for Andi's welfare. This makes Andi even more upset and she storms out. Celia and Bex are left debating of what to tell Andi since none of them wants Andi to hear the other person's side of the story.

The following day before school, Andi shocks Celia when she walks into the kitchen in dark makeup and puts on an attitude. Celia tells Bex that her worst nightmare has come true: Andi is turning into Bex. On arriving at school, Andi goes to the bathroom and removes the makeup. Buffy asks her the rationale for putting it on if she was just going to remove it. Andi argues that she wanted to make a statement. If the adults don't consult her before making decisions that affect her, there will be consequences.

At the same time, Buffy is trying to make a statement of her own. She is soaking Marty's sneakers in the toilet. She is doing it as retaliation against Marty, her prime shoe-thief suspect. When one of her shoes went missing, she had concluded that that Marty must have stolen it to sabotage the race and her chance of winning. Cyrus had urged her not to jump to conclusions and do anything stupid. But from Buffy's response, Cyrus could tell that she's not going to back down. So, she steals Marty's sneakers and soaks them in toilet water. Cyrus finds her holding the sneakers, still leaking water. Marty arrives and is disappointed that Buffy would do that. Buffy tries to accuse Marty of stealing her shoe but Cyrus reveals that Buffy's shoe was left in his mom's car. Marty asks Buffy if she has anything to say. She offers to replace the shoes but Marty leaves saying that that wasn't the response he wanted. Cyrus tells Buffy that Marty wanted her to apologize. Buffy feels bad for misjudging Marty.

Meanwhile, Jonah's struggle to impress Amber is far from over. It turns out that Amber loved Jonah's makeup gift but unfortunately didn't like his birthday card. So, she gives Jonah a second chance to rewrite the message on the card, making it more personal. Amber is really good at giving Jonah second chances this way. Poor Jonah doesn't know what to write to please Amber. So, he begs Andi to help him figure out what to say but Andi is too busy dealing with her own personal stuff too. She promises to help him later after school. But Jonah doesn't make it easy for her. He calls her "pal," sending Andi to the friend-zone. After school, Bex comes over to pick up Andi. Jonah tries to talk to Andi about the card but pretends not to see him.

Andi walks to Bex's motorbike. She tells Bex the makeup was just to piss Celia off. She also tells Bex that she doesn't want to go back home after all that drama. It turns out, Bex didn't want to go back home either. She has already rented an apartment for her to live with Andi. Bex takes Andi to the apartment. Their new home.
