Full Plot

With Bex and Bowie's wedding coming up, the new family will need a bigger place to stay after they're married. Bowie and Bex break the news to Andi about getting a bigger place. Instead of being excited, Andi is upset that her parents made the decision to move without consulting her. She loves the apartment and she doesn't want to move at all. To Andi's surprise, Bowie goes to the apartment next door and knocks a hole in the wall, announcing that they just bought the adjacent apartment to merge it with the current one. Andi is glad they don't have to move after all.

At school, Buffy is finally holding tryouts for the new girls basketball team she's starting. TJ and Cyrus come along to give her the emotional support she needs. Despite them expecting her to be nervous, Buffy is confident and not nervous at all. She walks into the room and finds a group of girls waiting for her. She gives them instructions on how to play and blows the whistle to get them started. Unfortunately, it turns out that they're all terrible at basketball. She asks them to take a break. She tells Cyrus and TJ that she is worried if the team is so bad, they are never going to be able to find anyone willing to coach them. She says they're terrible but TJ reminds her that she has to be patient with everyone and not to turn into the kind of captain he was.

At round two of the tryouts, no one shows up, making Buffy really worried. She has no option but to stick with those who tried out in the first round, despite how terrible they were. She realizes that she could boost their team spirit if she made them look like a team. At that point, she reminds TJ that he still owes her a favor for being mean to her. She asks TJ to help get a team uniform for the girls. TJ comes through and Buffy hands over the uniform to the girls team. The girls team loves their new uniform. So, they keep walking around in it in groups.

At Red Rooster Records, Andi and Jonah Beck are having fun taking pictures together as friends. Andi brings up how proud she is for their invention of the "no-breakup breakup." They both love that they're having so much fun together as friends without all the complications of relationships. Afterwards, Bowie tells Jonah that he has an open mic night but he doesn't have anyone who signed up to perform. So, he asks Jonah to perform but Jonah complains that he doesn't have any other song besides the one he wrote for Andi.[3] Bowie insists and Jonah promises to come up with something.

During the open-mic night, Jonah goes to the stage. Andi, Buffy and Cyrus are in the audience to cheer him on. Jonah starts singing. It turns out to be a song about the night he said goodbye to Andi before leaving for the frisbee camp.[4] In the song, he says that he walked her to the door to say goodbye and she cried. The song makes it sound as if Andi was so devastated about the break up. Everyone in the audience starts looking at Andi, concerned if she's okay. But Andi makes it clear that she is fine. After the song, Andi complains that that's not how it went down.

The next day, Andi confronts Jonah about the song. Jonah apologizes and says that he can't un-sing it. But maybe he can re-sing it. So, during lunch, he takes on his guitar and starts performing the song to the students. Except this time, it's a different version in which he admits that he's the one who cried. After the song, Andi and Jonah make up and resume hanging out together as friends. They declare themselves the best exes ever.

Andi says that she and Jonah can handle anything that comes their way, no matter what buttons are pushed. Even if it's the biggest button of all - dating other people. At that point, Jonah puts on this weird look on his face and then leaves abruptly.
