Buffy in a Bottle is the twenty-first episode in Season 2 of Andi Mack and the thirty-third overall. It first aired on July 23, 2018 to 0.88 million viewers[1].
Plot
Summary
Andi and Cyrus miss Buffy and can’t reach her after her move. Andi receives a handmade gift from Walker that upsets Jonah.[2]
Full Plot
Ever since Buffy left, Andi and Cyrus have been trying to contact her but all their calls keep going to voicemail. They've been hanging at The Spoon with Buffy's time capsule, just to feel Buffy's presence. Andi needs Buffy so that she can talk to her about her feelings for Jonah and Walker.
Andi tells Bex that she has made up her mind that she wants Jonah Beck and needs to end things with Walker. So, she invites Walker over to tell him in person. However, Walker complicates things by bringing her cute sneakers on which he painted a rainbow similar to the one he and Andi painted together at the art gallery[3]. Walker understands that he's not Andi's choice but he insists that she should still take the shoes because he made them for her. So, Andi accepts the shoes.
Even though she loves the sneakers, Andi doesn't want to take them outside to avoid being seen by Jonah. She eventually wears them to go meet Cyrus at Bowie's Red Rooster Records. She tells Cyrus that the shoes don't mean anything which makes Cyrus suspect Andi might still like Walker. They're then shocked when Jonah walks in unexpectedly. Jonah asks Andi about the sneakers. As Andi nervously struggles to explain where she got them, Jonah unhappily says he knows they're from Walker. He explains that he saw Andi and Walker's painting. Jonah is so upset that he leaves the store without even buying the guitar strings he wanted. Cyrus tells Andi that perhaps Jonah doesn't know that she's his girlfriend. Andi thinks the kiss was enough but Cyrus says that a kiss doesn't necessarily mean anything - just like his kiss with Iris.[4]
The next day at The Spoon, Cyrus and Andi are sitting with Buffy's time capsule while talking about their issues. Andi needs the courage to tell Jonah that she is his girlfriend. And Cyrus needs push to learn how to do somersault for his gym class as he has been cutting class instead. They wish Buffy was there because then she would push them to not give up. TJ comes over and asks if he could join them. Cyrus asks him to sit but Andi calls him out for how he treated Buffy. She forces him to apologize to Buffy's time capsule for being a jerk. TJ apologizes to the time capsule and after the apology, he sits down and asks them what they were talking about. Cyrus opens up about his trouble in P.E. because he can't do somersaults. TJ offers to help teach him later.
Suddenly, the door opens and Jonah walks in. Andi goes to sit next to him to tell him that she is his girlfriend. Unfortunately, she's disrupted when Jonah's friend, Natalie shows up. Natalie mentions that she and Jonah had plans to hang together. Andi feels like Jonah invited Natalie just to make her jealous. So, when Natalie suggests they should all sit together, Andi can't take it. So, Andi leaves. After seeing the awkwardness, TJ asks Cyrus if he'd like to come with him so that he can teach him to do somersaults. TJ and Cyrus walk out, leaving Jonah and Natalie sitting in the booth alone - with Buffy's time capsule. TJ takes Cyrus to this amazing gym where he works to teach little kids physical exercises. He starts training Cyrus. Eventually, Cyrus masters how to do somersaults.
After leaving The Spoon, Andi goes to CeCe's house where Bex has been spending time with CeCe working on designs for The Fringe. They've reached an agreement on how they want the new salon to look like. They're brainstorming a new name for The Fringe when Andi walks in. They ask her what she thinks about "Cloud Nine" but she angrily asks them why not "Cloud Ten?" They take it as a suggestion and agree to call it Cloud Ten. Andi asks to talk to Bex about Jonah but as she begins explaining the situation, one of the contractors calls and Bex needs to take the call.
Andi insists that she really needs to talk to Bex now but Bex asks her to wait a little. So, Andi waits and waits until she gets bored and inadvertently falls asleep on the couch. She wakes up the next morning, still on the couch. She is angry because Bex didn't spare time for her when she really needed to talk. Bex explains that Andi is the most important thing in her life. And she has dedicated her whole life to just Andi. But now, she has a new business starting that she is proud of and needs to give attention too. Still mad at Bex for neglecting her, Andi puts on her jacket and walks out.
On her way back to the apartment, Andi leaves Buffy a tearful voicemail, saying that she really needs to talk to her. On arriving at the apartment building, she is surprised to see Buffy standing outside, listening to Andi's voicemail. Andi runs in and gives Buffy a big, emotional hug.
